Why mentoring

There is no single formula for building a photography career. What matters is understanding where your work is strong, where it is getting stuck, and what would actually move you forward.

My mentoring is practical, personal, and shaped around the photographer in front of me. There is no fixed curriculum and no set of modules to work through.

We start from your photographs and your questions, and spend the time where it will make the most difference.

1-on-1 mentoring

Built around
where you are now.

The session is shaped around your goals, your portfolio, and the parts of the creative process or the business you want to improve.

We can spend it looking at photographs, workflow, client experience, posing, pricing, review your portfolio, or any combination that would be most useful to you.

2-Hour Mentoring Session

A short, focused session for the questions you already know you have. We can look through your portfolio, work through editing or workflow, or talk about pricing and client experience, whichever is most pressing right now.

Common questions

A few things
you may be wondering.

Photographers at any stage who want an outside perspective on their work. Some are just starting to take on weddings; others have been shooting for years and want to sharpen a specific part of the process.

Anything from the list above, and plenty that isn’t on it. Most sessions end up mixing creative work with business questions, because the two are usually connected.

Short mentoring sessions are two hours and the in-depth sessions are usually four to six hours.

Yes, and most sessions happen that way. In-person is possible in Montréal and Québec City, and elsewhere when the timing works out.

A link to your portfolio and a short note about what is frustrating you is enough. If you want a gallery reviewed, send it ahead so I can look properly before we talk.

Yes. We can go through the edit, the sequencing and the way the work is presented, along with how the site reads to someone deciding whether to inquire.

They are sold separately through Etsy, but anything directly relevant to what we work on will come up in the session itself.
