Île-d'Orléans, QC
I met with Cynthia and Sebastian through Cynthia's sister, Vanessa. She inquired about a marriage proposal photo shoot for her sister. She told me that they invited around fifteen family members around the world to witness this special moment. It was a cold winter day in Quebec City. If I am not mistaken the temperature was around -20 C degrees. I could barely feel my fingers. When Cynthia said "YES" to Sebastian's marriage proposal in front of Chateau Frontenac, it was a magical moment. All family members went out from where they were hiding and the rest were all hugging and tears. It was beautiful. I took some photos of the couple in Old Quebec after the proposal. But they were not very comfortable to be outside under that freezing weather conditions.
The couple decided that they needed a proper engagement session with me. So a few months later, when the weather was beautiful, they came to Quebec one more time. Traveling is a part of my job. I've traveled so many places during my career. And I appreciate it so much when a couple travels to me for their photo session. I need to mention that Cynthia and Sebastian are from Toronto. So they traveled around ten hours just to come to Quebec City!
We decided to have their engagement session on Île-d'Orléans. This island is located in the Saint Lawrence River about 5 kilometres east of downtown Quebec City. It offers many beautiful landscapes. Besides using those beautiful landscapes, we also had the majority of our photo session at La Seigneurie de l'Île d'Orléans. This private place offers a lavender field and a beautiful garden.
