Istanbul, Turkey
I think Beykoz Kundura Fabrikası, which is an old shoe factory, is the most unique wedding venue out there. The place is huge and has been home for many movies and TV shows. The venue offers such variety of beautiful backgrounds. It was such a pleasure for me to shoot this beautifully planned wedding by the couple. This wedding was also published in the Fall-Winter 2016 issue of Martha Stewart Weddings to inspire other couples. Wedding’s beautiful videography was done by Düğme Film. Below you can find some questions that the couple answered for me.
How did you meet?
We had known each other for a long time but we never had a chance to become friends. Our roads crossed in Paris in 2010 and we started talking. And we never stopped talking since.
How did you decide on the wedding venue?
Gülüm mentioned Beykoz Kundura Fabrikası. We went to check the venue. We loved it immediately and decided to get married there.
Did you get any wedding favors for your guests?
We gave jam in small jars, which was made by my mom. It was so important for us that the favors would be made by us and we were so happy to offer such a delightful thing to our guests.
What were your first dance and entrance songs?
Our entrance song after the ceremony was “All You Need Is Love” by The Beatles. The first dance song was “Michelle” by The Beatles.
